Summary: "Get your kids excited about your Hawaiian vacation!"

We were going to Hawaii and needed guidebooks. My 10 year old daughter went with me to the bookstore. There were three shelves of books about Hawaii! I asked her to look at some, and I looked at some. She disliked all of them except this DK Hawaii guide. I want my children to have a lot of input into planning family vacations, so if you do too, this is a great guide for your kids. They should be able to read at about the 4th grade level or higher. Among other things, my daughter found a once-a-year Hawaiian rodeo that we will be lucky enough to see during our vacation. Yee haw!

P.S.: Later, I found out our public library also has several copies of this book.

P.P. S.: I do not think this should be this ONLY Hawaii guide you use.

Summary: "Outstanding resource"

This well-written book is bursting with the information that you want and need for your next trip to Hawaii. Although the Fodor's series as well as the Frommer's series are well done, this surpasses them by far. Full of maps, colorful photos and reliable data, it will be easy to pack for your next trip to the islands.

Summary: "Wonderful DK travel book, as usual"

Whenever I am planning on taking a trip, one of my first courses of action is to consult the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides for that location.

I love the layout and the visual feel to the guides. The size of these books makes them ideal for carrying with you on vacation, while still packing in tons of information.

The Hawaii Eyewitness Travel Guide is no exception. The book is divided into sections on each of the islands and covers a variety of activities. After searching on the internet for hours, I was able to find the most reliable and precise information in this book.

Summary: "Pre Trip Evaluation"

This book is easy to read, concise and to the point. Seems to contain all of the sites a first time visitor would want to see. I purchased two other books on Hawaii but this will be our main guide. The others will serve if we want more details about the sites. I know others who have used this book in Hawaii and they highly recommend it.

It is a great book, has a lot of color pictures, but dont have great maps and is difficult for travelers.
I recommend only for first time visitors to Hawaii.
